A poster sold framed: what that changes

Let us say it straight away: we do not sell unframed posters rolled up in a tube. The poster is printed and delivered in a black wooden frame, ready to hang. If you only want the print to slip into a frame you already own, this is not the right product.

Nothing else to buy: no frame to hunt down in the right size, no print to trim. You receive the finished poster.
It is a gift ready to give: you can have it delivered straight to the person, shipping included.
The price is for the framed poster, shipping included, no minimum: one is enough.

The mathsThe framed photo poster costs from $55.00 in A4; $75.00 in 30 × 40; $131.00 in 50 × 70, or $117.90 with the code BIENVENUE10 on a first order (the code applies from €35). Three A4s side by side come to $165.00, more than a single 50 × 70. Given by two people, the 50 × 70 comes to $65.50 each; by five, $26.20. Frames do not count towards the quantity discount.

Which poster size to choose

The size depends on viewing distance: the further away people look at the poster from, the bigger it needs to be.

A4 (21 × 29.7 cm, about 8.3 × 11.7 in), from $55.00: the poster you look at up close, on a desk, a shelf, a small stretch of wall. A portrait, a couple, a pet.
30 × 40 cm (about 12 × 16 in), $75.00: the hallway or entrance poster. Its proportions are close to a phone photo's, so it crops very little. A family of four to six fits well.
50 × 70 cm (about 20 × 27.5 in), $131.00: the real poster, the one for the main wall, above a sofa or a bed. A landscape, a group, a wedding photo, with a very sharp photo.

Which photo, and what resolution

On a t-shirt or a mug, an average photo gets away with it. On a poster, especially at 50 × 70, every flaw shows. Three checks before you order:

Use the original: the photo as it comes off the phone or camera. An image received in a message, a screenshot or a photo downloaded from social media has lost detail. It will hold up in A4, rarely in 50 × 70.
Check sharpness by zooming in on the faces: if it is blurry on screen, it will be blurry on the wall. The Make the photo sharper (AI) button helps with a photo that is a little small, not with one that is shaken.
Leave some margin: A4 and 50 × 70 are slightly longer than a phone photo. Leave room around the heads so the crop does not cut into them.

Custom photo poster ideas

A poster is more than an enlarged photo. With some text and a template, it becomes a piece of decor:

The travel poster: your best landscape shot in 50 × 70, with the name of the place and the year in big letters, using the ready-made text styles.
The retro poster: a holiday photo with the Seventies template, or an old photo with the Polaroid template.

Mistakes to avoid

Looking for an unframed poster: we do not sell one. If you already have a frame, this is not the right product; if you do not, the framed poster saves you finding one.
A 50 × 70 from a photo received in a message: ask the person who took it for the original.
A group of fifteen in A4: the faces become tiny. Go up to 30 × 40 or 50 × 70.
Too much text on the photo: a title, a place, a date. Any more and the poster starts to look like an invitation.
Ordering too late for a date: allow 5 to 10 working days in the UK, Europe and the US, up to 15 elsewhere. For Christmas, order by Thursday 10 December in Europe, and by early December outside Europe.
