The wedding is over, the photographer's photos have just arrived, and there is one last thing to do: say thank you. A card with your photo does the job much better than a group message. Here is how to prepare it without spending an entire Sunday on it.
Why a photo card rather than a message
A text message of thanks is read once. A postcard ends up on a fridge, in a notebook, on a desk. Your guests set aside a day, often a weekend, sometimes a train ticket: the physical return changes the nature of the gesture.
And you already have all the material. The wedding photos are there, all that's missing is a medium. Our personalized postcards can be ordered in packs of 10, in A6 (10.5 × 14.8 cm), on 300 g paper — the thickness of a real card, not a flimsy print.
Which photo to choose
The temptation is to take the most beautiful couple photo. That is often a mistake: it is vertical, very close-up, and cropping it to A6 landscape cuts off a head.
Three practical criteria:
- Wide framing. Leave space around the faces; you will have room for cropping.
- A photo that tells the story of the day, not a studio pose: leaving the church, the first drink, the dance floor. Your guests will recognize themselves in it.
- Light. Flash photos from the end of the evening look bad in print: blacks get muddy and skin tones change.
As for the file, aim for at least 1,500 pixels on the longest side for an A6. The photographer's files are well above that. If you are picking from guests' photos, take the original sent by email or AirDrop, never the version retrieved from a WhatsApp conversation: it is compressed to a third of its size. What to write on the back
You can add text in the online workshop. Keep it short: three lines are enough, and an overcrowded card is harder to read than a nearly empty one.
What works: a common sentence printed for everyone ("Thank you for being there on July 12th"), then a handwritten note added by hand for each recipient. You keep the mass production and the personal gesture. Write by hand on the white space, not on the photo.
How many to order
Count one card per household, not per guest: a couple receives one card. For 90 guests, this generally makes 45 to 55 cards. Add five extra copies as a margin — there is always a forgotten address, and you will want to keep one for yourself.
Packs of 10 can be combined, and the quantity discount applies starting from 10 items in the cart: −10%, then −15% starting from 25. It appears automatically in the cart, without a code. When to order them
Custom dictates that you thank people within three months following the wedding. That is comfortable, but the real trap is elsewhere: the photographer's photos often arrive four to eight weeks after the ceremony. The countdown starts at that moment, not the day after the wedding.
The site announces 5 to 10 business days, manufacturing and delivery included. In practice, count on a week. Launch the order as soon as you have chosen the photo, not when you have finished writing the text: it is always the writing that gets delayed.
Two or three things to know before confirming
- The price shown is the price paid: delivery is included, even for a single pack. Delivery to France, the EU, the UK, Switzerland and the United States.
- Printed to order at the partner site closest to the delivery address. Nothing is in stock, so nothing is thrown away.
- No account to create, and your photo does not leave the browser until the moment of payment.
- Personalized product, therefore no right of withdrawal (article L221-28 3° of the Consumer Code). However, any printing, manufacturing, or transport defect will be replaced or refunded.
And for the few people to whom you owe more than a card
The witnesses, the parents, the person who drove the van: a card is not always enough. A 30 × 40 cm personalized photo frame delivered assembled, at €47.90, fits the bill. Be careful, however, wooden frames are excluded from the quantity discount and do not count towards the threshold: add them at the end of the order; they will not change the calculation for your cards.
