Christmas 2026 is on Friday 25 December. If you want to give a framed print, a mug, a t-shirt or a tote bag printed with your own photo, the question is not "is it still possible?" but "from which date does it get tight?". Here is the answer, with the reasoning behind it, so you can decide for yourself instead of crossing your fingers.
How long does a printed photo gift take to arrive?
It depends on where you are, because the item is printed near you. France: 5 to 10 working days. Rest of the European Union: up to 10. United Kingdom, United States, Switzerland: up to 15. That is not a preparation time to which shipping must be added: it is the total, from payment to your letterbox, manufacturing included.
The important nuance is the word working. A working day is Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays do not count. An order placed on a Friday evening starts on Monday. In December, this difference between working days and calendar days is exactly what catches people out: they count "10 days" on their phone, land on a reassuring date, and forget the weekends — four days of drift over two weeks.
Other nuance: nothing is in stock. Your mug does not exist in a box somewhere waiting for a label. It is made because you ordered it. That is what changes the whole Christmas calculation.
Does that lead time really include manufacturing?
Yes. There is no warehouse, there is a chain: you pay, the print file goes to the printer, the item is produced, then shipped. The working days quoted cover all of it.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Before ordering | The preview is computed in your browser. Your photo does not leave your device. You can test, swap images, compare items without sending anything. |
| At payment | The print file goes to the printer. This is the real starting point of the lead time. |
| Production | The item is printed individually, for you, in the workshop closest to your address. |
| Dispatch | On its way to you. The print file is deleted after dispatch. |
A practical consequence: as long as you have not paid, you can hesitate as much as you like, it consumes no lead time. But once payment is through, the clock is running — and it cannot be shortened, because there is nothing to take out of stock.
Where is the item printed?
Printing is entrusted to Gelato, a network of print workshops that produces closest to the delivery address: in Europe for a European address, in the United States for an American one, in the United Kingdom for a British one. That is not a marketing detail, it is the reason the lead time holds in December: the parcel does not cross the planet. It also means that outside the EU, customs duties may apply on delivery — they depend on your country, not on us.
Until when can I order and still get it before Christmas?
Take the December 2026 calendar and count back from Thursday 24 December, the last useful day to put the parcel under the tree.
| Order date | France & EU (up to 10 working days) | UK, US, Switzerland (up to 15) |
|---|---|---|
| Up to Friday 27 November | Comfortable. | Comfortable. Even at the slowest, you have a week to spare. |
| Monday 30 November – Wednesday 2 December | Comfortable. | Recommended window. The one we advise if you want to sleep soundly. |
| Thursday 3 December | Comfortable. | Tight but coherent: 15 working days from the 3rd land on the 24th. |
| Friday 4 – Wednesday 9 December | Recommended window (Tuesday 8 December is our advice). | Don't count on it for the 24th. See plan B. |
| Thursday 10 December | Tight but coherent: 10 working days from the 10th land on the 24th. | — |
| From Friday 11 December | Don't count on it for the 24th. See plan B. | — |
The theoretical deadlines are therefore Thursday 10 December for the EU and Thursday 3 December for the UK, the US and Switzerland. Our advice is a few days earlier: Tuesday 8 December and Monday 30 November. The gap is your safety margin — a margin is useful in December, and a gift that arrives on the 26th is no longer a Christmas gift, it is a parcel.
And if you order in mid-November? Nothing spoils. A framed print, a mug, a t-shirt or a tote bag wait perfectly well in a cupboard for three weeks.
Is shipping added at checkout?
No. The price shown is the price paid, shipping included, from a single item, in every country we ship to. No threshold to reach, no surprise on the last screen. Prices follow your market's currency:
| Item | Price, shipping included |
|---|---|
| Framed print 21 × 29.7 cm (8.3 × 11.7 in | $55.00 |
| A4) · black pine wood | $23.00 |
| Ceramic mug 325 ml · dishwasher safe | $23.00 |
| T-shirt · unisex S to 2XL | $35.00 |
| Cotton tote bag · long handles | $45.00 |
| Sweatshirt · unisex S to 2XL | $50.00 |
The whole range appears with your photo on it and up-to-date prices anyway, without you having to add anything up.
What if you are too late?
There is no miracle express option: we would rather tell you than sell you hope. But there are two honest plan Bs.
Give the preview, then the item
The preview appears on screen before any payment. Order anyway, then screenshot the preview, print it on a plain sheet and slip it into an envelope: "your mug is on its way, here it is". On the 25th, the person sees exactly what they are going to receive. It is more sincere than a generic gift card, and it costs nothing extra.
Own the delay
Second option: aim for New Year, or hand it over in person after the holidays. A personalised item has no expiry date, and it will be looked at calmly rather than in the pile of the 25th.
What is not an option: counting on a last-minute cancellation. Personalised goods are exempt from the 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU, article 16 c), and the same logic applies wherever we ship: once printing has started, the order is firm. A damaged item, or one that does not match what you approved, is reprinted free of charge.
Ordering several gifts at once without mixing up the photos
The classic December mistake: the right photo on the wrong item — or the other way round. Four habits are enough.
- Prepare your photos before opening the site. One folder, one file per recipient, clearly renamed: grandma-garden.jpg, flatmate-cat.jpg. You will no longer be choosing from a list of IMG_4471.
- One recipient at a time. Drop their photo, see it on the whole range, choose, order. Then move on to the next. It is slower by a minute and it removes the mix-ups.
- Check the pixel count before, not after. A photo from a messaging app has been shrunk. The 30-second test tells you in one division whether it will hold up.
- Read the confirmation e-mail. It lists what was ordered, item by item. It is the last moment to spot a mix-up before printing starts.
