What the lead time is made of
A personalised object is not sitting in a warehouse with your photo on it: it is printed to order. So the total has two parts.
- Production: at Pose ton design it generally starts within 24 hours of the order, in Europe.
- Transport: to your address or the recipient’s.
- The stated total: 5 to 10 working days in France, up to 15 working days outside France (European Union, United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States).
Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Ten working days is therefore two calendar weeks, sometimes a little more.
The calculation, with real dates
To know when your gift arrives, count working days from the order:
- Order on Monday 5 October 2026: delivery between Monday the 12th and Monday the 19th of October.
- Halloween (Saturday 31 October): order by around Friday 16 October; ten working days later is Friday the 30th.
- Christmas in France: an order placed on Thursday 10 December arrives by Thursday the 24th at the latest. Tuesday the 8th leaves two days of margin.
- Christmas outside France: with up to 15 working days, count back further — the end of November is the sensible limit.
What stretches it
- Peak periods. Early December and the run-up to Mother’s Day saturate every printer, ours included.
- Public holidays and long weekends. They do not count as working days and they stack up fast in May. See public holidays and lead times.
- An order placed on a Friday evening. It starts on the Monday.
- A destination outside France. Up to 15 working days.
The rule that avoids the problem
Start from the date of the event and take off two to three weeks, not ten days. The difference is the margin, and the margin is what makes the gift arrive before the date rather than after.
If you are already late, two things help: give the studio preview on the day, and have the object shipped straight to the recipient, which removes the intermediate transport days. What does not help is ordering the night before: a personalised product carries no right of withdrawal (article L221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code), so it cannot be sent back for arriving late.
