Autumn is annual general meeting season. It is also when many associations realise they have never properly thanked the people who run the refreshment stand, handle the registrations or put up the barriers at 7 a.m. A personalised item with a photo of the team does that far better than one more speech.
Why a photo works better than a logo
Volunteers already see the association's logo everywhere: on the flyers, on the website, on the sign at the sports hall entrance. It says nothing new. A photo taken during the tournament, the jumble sale or the concert, with the faces of the people who were there, tells the story of a whole year.
Three photos that work almost every time:
- the group photo at the end of the event, when everyone is tired and happy;
- a wide shot of the site in full swing — the stall, the packed hall, the start line;
- the in-joke detail: the trailer, the whiteboard, the lopsided marquee.
Add the association's name and the year as text in the design studio, and you have a dated object nobody else owns.
Which item for which budget
For a group thank-you, choose something people use in front of others. The personalised tote bag ($35.00) is the most visible: it goes shopping, to the market, to work — and the association goes with it. The mug ($23.00) is the most affordable and ends up at the office or the clubhouse. The t-shirt ($23.00) is ideal if you want the team to be recognisable at the next event, and the sweatshirt ($45.00) keeps warm the people who are outside all season.
In every case, the price shown is the price paid: shipping is included, even for a single item.
The bulk discount changes the maths
From 10 items in the basket, a 10% discount applies automatically; from 25, it rises to 15%. No code to enter — it appears on its own in the basket.
In practice: twelve mugs come to $248.40 instead of $276.00. Fifteen tote bags, $472.50 instead of $525.00. Twenty-five t-shirts, $488.75 instead of $575.00. Items add up even when they are different: eight mugs and four tote bags make twelve items, so the discount applies. You can match the gift to each volunteer without losing the group rate.

Clothing: the question of sizes
This is the only part that needs a little organising. The t-shirts and sweatshirts are unisex, S to 2XL. If you are ordering for fifteen people, send a group message two weeks ahead with a simple table to fill in — first name, size — rather than guessing. If you do not have time to collect sizes, stick to the mug or the tote bag: one size, no risk of error.
When to order for the AGM
Allow 5 to 10 working days for printing and delivery. It is usually about a week, but build in a margin: for a mid-November AGM, order at the end of October. That leaves time to check the photos, chase the three volunteers who have not given their size, and have the box before the day rather than after it.

The detail that makes the difference
If your budget allows, personalise the text for each person rather than printing the same thing fifteen times. Same group photo, same layout, but each first name at the bottom. It costs exactly the same — personalisation is included — and it turns a giveaway into a gift. Volunteers keep theirs; the one with just the association's name ends up at the back of a cupboard.
