The short answer

For cards to be in mailboxes by ~20 December, they must reach you in time to write and post them: order the 10 personalised cards ($26.00, shipping included) by Friday 27 November 2026 — 22 November for a comfortable margin. Sending French-style January wishes instead? You have until late December.

The date nobody calculates

A photo Christmas card has two journeys: the printer to you, then you to everyone else. People remember the second and forget the first. Printed to order, the cards take 2 to 4 working days of production plus 3 to 5 of delivery; add your own writing evening and the postal service's December pace, and the real order deadline is 27 November for cards that land before Christmas, 22 November if you want slack.

What the card is, concretely

Ten identical A6 cards, 300 g board, $26.00 delivered. The front is your photo — the kids, the dog, the year's best moment — or an AI drawing of it in one of 11 styles (watercolour and line drawing suit cards especially well). The back stays blank: the handwriting is the part people keep.

Three fronts that work better than a posed family photo

The pet as the announcer. The dog in a Santa hat, drawn in watercolour — the card people pin to the fridge. See the pet portrait styles.
The year's one photo. Not the best-dressed one: the one with the story you want to tell in the message.
The drawn family. The group photo redrawn as a comic-book panel — it ages better than any posed shot, and nobody blinks at how they looked.

France does it in January — and that changes your deadline

French custom sends cartes de vœux through January, wishes being welcome all month. If your list is French, the pressure drops: order in the last week of December, write them on the 1st, post in the first days of January. One set of cards, two calendars, your choice of tradition.

If cards are only part of the plan

The same photo can carry the whole season: the gift ideas page pairs it with the 2027 calendar or a framed print, and every date of the season is on the deadlines page.

Questions we get

When do I need to order photo cards for Christmas 2026? Work backwards: cards should be in mailboxes around 20 December, so you post them by mid-December, so they must reach YOU first. Printed to order in 5 to 10 working days, that means ordering by Friday 27 November 2026 — and by 22 November for a comfortable margin.

What exactly is the product? A set of 10 identical A6 postcards on 300 g card ($26.00, shipping included): your photo or an AI drawing on the front, the back left free for your handwriting. Order two sets for a twenty-name list.

Can the AI design the card if I don't want a family photo? Yes — describe the scene in one sentence (“our dog in a Santa hat, watercolour”) and it is drawn in about fifteen seconds, with the preview on the actual card before paying. Three tries are free, no account.

Do you print the names and addresses too? No — the ten cards are identical and the back is blank on purpose. Most people see the handwriting as the point of a card; if you need one different photo per person, that is one order per design.

What about French-style New Year cards? In France cards traditionally go out in January, which relaxes the dates: order during the last week of December and they arrive in time to be posted in the first days of January — wishes are accepted all month.

Businesses: can we order larger quantities? Yes. A discount applies from 10 items (10%) and 25 items (15%) in one order, and the corporate greeting-cards guide covers quantities and timing.
