Printing a photo on an unusual object: eleven ideas
The same photo does not behave the same on a mug 8 cm high and on a poster 42 cm tall. Here are the eleven products, what each renders well, and the file size each one needs. Shipping included, no minimum, on all eleven.

Large products: detail survives
- The poster ($55.00): the largest print in the range. Landscapes, tightly cropped group photos, scanned children’s drawings. Also the most demanding of the file.
- The canvas ($35.00): stretched on a frame, ready to hang. The weave softens the image slightly, which forgives a borderline file — and renders fine text less well.
- The tote bag ($35.00): 38 × 42 cm of cotton. The largest textile surface, and the one seen most outdoors.
- The calendar ( in A4, in A3): twelve photos, one per month. The only product that tells a whole year.
Textiles: the subject must read
- The t-shirt ($23.00): Gildan 64000 Softstyle, 150 gsm cotton, S to 2XL, 9 colours. The most versatile product.
- The sweatshirt ($45.00) and the hoodie ($50.00): 270 gsm. The fabric is thicker, so flat areas of colour render better than subtle gradients.
- The cap () and the bucket hat (): small surface, curved. A logo, a name, a very tight face — not a scene.
On a dark garment, a photo with light backgrounds stands out better than a dark one. The which photo works on a t-shirt page covers this.
Small products: one subject only
- The mug ($23.00): 325 ml ceramic, dishwasher safe. The design wraps around 8 cm of height — one face, two at most.
- The postcards ($26.00): a pack of ten identical copies, A6, 300 gsm uncoated. Front printed, back left blank to write on by hand.
The rule for all eleven
The bigger the product, the bigger the file must be. Aim for at least 2000 pixels on the short side for a tote bag, a t-shirt or a poster, and always start from the original — never the copy that went through a messaging app, which has been recompressed. Figures are on the photo resolution page.
Two things all eleven share: printing is on one side only, and delivery is included in the price shown, in 5 to 10 working days in France. From 10 items in the same basket, even mixed across products, the 10% discount applies automatically; 15% from 25. Only the wooden frames are excluded.
Questions we get asked
What can you print a photo on? Eleven products: t-shirt, sweatshirt, hoodie, tote bag, cap, bucket hat, mug, postcards, poster, canvas and calendar. All printed on one side, to order, in Europe.
Which product suits a group photo? A large one: poster, canvas or tote bag. On a mug or a cap the print is too small and faces become unreadable.
What resolution do I need to print a photo on an object? At least 2000 pixels on the short side for a tote bag, a t-shirt or a poster, starting from the original file rather than a copy received by message.
Can you print on both sides of an object? No. Printing is on one side only, on all eleven products.
