Why size matters more for a personalised garment

A garment bought off a shop rail can be exchanged. A garment printed with a photo can't: it's made for one person, and personalised products fall outside the standard 14-day right to cancel under EU consumer law, with an equivalent rule under UK regulations.

Four ways to find the size without asking outright

The label: check the size on a sweatshirt or t-shirt they wear often, in the laundry or the wardrobe.
Lay it flat and measure: lay that garment flat, measure the width underarm to underarm and the length, then compare it to the size guide. This is more reliable than a label, since sizing varies between brands.
Someone close to them: a partner, a sibling or a flatmate often knows their size, or can check for you.
