The photo that works

On the shoulders: baby sitting on dad's shoulders, both looking at the camera. The most readable on a t-shirt, because the two faces sit one above the other.
In the arms: baby held facing the camera, against the chest. Compact, it fits the print area without losing anyone.
Cheek to cheek: both heads side by side, close up. The most expressive.

In all three cases: facing the camera, in daylight, no backlight. A phone photo is enough, as long as it isn't a screenshot or a compressed WhatsApp forward. The sharpness test tells you in 30 seconds.

Remove the background in one gesture

A cut-out subject placed on the fabric looks better than a rectangle of photo with the living room behind it. Two ways:
