The three sizes and their prices
The canvas is stretched over a wooden frame and arrives ready to hang. It is printed to order near the delivery address, one at a time, with no minimum, and delivered in 5 to 10 working days in Europe (up to 15 elsewhere), shipping included.
- 20 × 20 cm (about 8 × 8 in), $35.00: the small square. A face, a pet, a square photo. It sits on a shelf or a desk, or hangs on the wall in a row of three.
- 20 × 30 cm (about 8 × 12 in), a little more: the shape of a photo taken with a camera, so it barely needs cropping. A portrait upright, a landscape on its side.
- 30 × 30 cm (about 12 × 12 in), a little more again: the large square, for a couple or family photo, and big enough to hold a stretch of wall on its own.
Which photo for which size
A canvas has its own proportions: the photo has to fit the canvas, not the other way round.
- For the squares (20 × 20 and 30 × 30): a photo that is already square, or one you crop tight on a face or a pet. A wide group photo loses the people at both ends.
- For the 20 × 30: a photo from a camera goes on almost whole. A phone photo, slightly less elongated, loses a thin strip, so leave some space around heads.
- For every size: a sharp photo, the original rather than a picture someone sent you in a chat. Make the photo sharper (AI) helps if it is a little small; the details are in our guide to photo resolution for printing.

Canvas or frame, and where to hang it
A canvas and a frame don't give the same effect. The canvas, with no border, looks like a small painting; the black wooden frame, like a photo on display.
- Go for the canvas for sizes up to 30 × 30 cm, a square photo, a softer look, a smaller budget, or a series of several photos.
- Go for the frame for anything bigger (30 × 40 at $75.00, 50 × 70 at $131.00), a group photo, or a wall that already has other frames on it. The 30 × 30 canvas and the framed 30 × 40 are close in price: it's the look you want that decides.
Where to put it? A 20 × 20 canvas can also stand on a shelf or a desk, with no drilling. On the wall, small canvases work well in a hallway, a bedroom, a study, or in a row above a headboard: three 20 × 20s side by side (a triptych) or two 20 × 30s next to each other. Mistakes to avoid
- A group photo on a square: the people at the ends get cut off. Go for the 20 × 30 or a 30 × 40 frame.
- A blurry photo on a 30 × 30: with no frame to draw the eye away, blur shows. Check the preview at full size.
- Expecting a large canvas: canvases stop at 30 × 30 cm. Beyond that, it's a frame.
- Too much text: a name and a date are enough; save the rest for a card.
- A mismatched series: for a triptych, choose three photos with the same light and the same framing.
