1. The dates, first
Black Friday follows American Thanksgiving, which is the fourth Thursday of November. In 2026 that is Thursday 26 November, so Black Friday is Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November.
In practice the "weekend" now starts a fortnight early and finishes in December, which is part of why comparing prices has become harder rather than easier.
2. The one rule that settles it
A discount is only a discount if the higher price was ever really charged.
That is not an opinion, it is the law in the European Union: under the Omnibus directive, any announced price reduction must be based on the lowest price the seller applied in the previous thirty days. A shop that quietly raises a price in October and cuts it in November is not offering what the sticker says.
It is worth knowing because it turns a vague suspicion into a check you can actually make.
3. Three checks, two minutes
- Look up the price history. Browser extensions and price-tracking sites show what a product has actually cost over the past months. If the "before" price appeared three weeks ago, you have your answer.
- Ask whether the reference price was ever charged. On marketplaces, the struck-through figure is frequently a recommended retail price nobody has paid in years.
- Put it in the basket and look at the total. This is the one people skip. A 20% discount plus a delivery charge is often more expensive than an all-in price with no discount at all. Compare what you pay, not what is announced.
4. What we do
Nothing, on that weekend. And it is worth explaining why rather than just claiming it.
Everything here is printed to order. There is no stock to clear, no warehouse filling up, no unsold season — which is what a genuine November discount usually pays for. Inventing one would mean either raising the prices beforehand or cutting the quality, and both are visible.
So the prices you see on this page in September are the prices in November and the prices in February, shipping included, from a single item.
| Object | Price, shipping included |
|---|---|
| Ceramic mug, 325 ml | $23.00 |
| Ten A6 postcards, 300 gsm uncoated | $26.00 |
| 2027 wall calendar, A4, 14 pages | |
| Cotton tote bag, 38 × 42 cm (15 × 16.5 in) | $35.00 |
| Framed print, black pine, ready to hang | from $55.00 |
The one discount that exists is permanent and automatic: −10% from ten items in the same basket, −15% from twenty-five. Nothing to enter, no code, no weekend.
5. What that weekend is genuinely good for
Timing, not price.
Black Friday falls roughly two weeks before the Christmas order deadline for anything printed to order — for Christmas 2026, that deadline is Thursday 10 December in the European Union and Thursday 3 December for the United Kingdom, the United States and Switzerland. So if the last weekend of November is when you actually sit down and think about Christmas presents, that is perfect. Use it as a reminder, and ignore the countdown timers.
The other advantage: in late November there is still daylight at the weekend. If a gift needs a photo of the children, the dog or the family, that Saturday morning is the last comfortable opportunity before December takes the light away.
6. If you are looking for an idea
The pages that get read most in this period: choosing a personalised Christmas gift, building a 2027 photo calendar, and the order deadlines by country.
In short
- Black Friday 2026: Friday 27 November. Cyber Monday: Monday 30.
- No event discount here, and no struck-through prices — ever.
- Check price history, check whether the reference price was real, check the basket total.
- −10% from ten items, −15% from twenty-five, all year round.
- Use the weekend as a Christmas reminder, not as a sale.
Before you order, the preview is computed in your own browser and nothing is transmitted; the print file goes to the printer at payment and is deleted after dispatch. Personalised items are exempt from the standard European right of withdrawal (Directive 2011/83/EU, article 16(c)), and anything that arrives damaged is reprinted at no charge.
